Team Fury Red played in a very competitive 10th grade bracket with stiff competition. After a very hotly contested and successful Saturday performance, they finished the day 1-1. On Sunday they faced a good athletic team in All Iowa Attack. The score may not have looked the greatest, but I believe Red came away with a measuring stick they can use to build from. I was very pleased with the heart and hustle they displayed despite the deficit. This will serve them well as we continue along our journey this Summer.
Team Fury Black had an easier time of it this weekend. We got off to some sluggish starts, but we were able to correct our energy and execution as the weekend wore on. I was very pleased with how they "played present" and mentally locked-in throughout the weekend. Our schedule allowed us to implement several new features offensively and defensively that will prove to be very useful down the road.Team Defense still needs to be a point of emphasis for both Teams and will be a huge focal point during practices moving forward. This has to be a staple of our program.
The Team Fury "Weekend Warrior" Award will be recognized after each tournament. A "Weekend Warrior" is somebody who displayed "Toughness" as defined by our Team Fury Philosophy during the tournament. This award is voted upon by the coaching staff.
